How are there Dinosaurs?

1. It’s a space-time anomaly

First Clue: Something from another time—for example: a dead Roman soldier, a futuristic machine, or a Model T

What is the Purpose of the Complex?

1. An unrelated research station studying climate change, the volcano, electromagnetic anomalies, etc.

First Clue: Scientific equipment that has nothing to do with dinosaurs

What went wrong

A power outage set the dinosaurs free

First Clue: A tear in the electric fence

The Incident

Initial Response

In the confusion of losing power they found a gas powered car and a 9yr old and made a clean getaway from the hatchery heading towards the purple storm in the hope of restoring power and discovering what was stopping the navigation systems from working.

While driving they where chased by a Spinosaurus. Sir Garry fired hitting the spino causing it to give up the chase but was injured in the attack. Dr Vincent patched Sir Garry up with ease

Continuing to drive on they successfully avoided hitting an out of control 1910 Bentley rolling down the hill. Unfortunately just after the spino reappeared on the road behind them. Sir Garry almost pulled off a complicated plan to distract the spino but after a moment of confusion it gave chase. Ben feebly through a soda can for Sir Garry to shoot but he was not up to the task of shooting the can or the dinosaur injuring Ben in the process. Thankfully the Spinosaurus soon gave up the chase still recovering from its earlier wound. With the threat now gone they plunged into the centre of the storm where hopefully the power complex still stood.

The Anomaly

Arriving in the heart of a fierce purple storm the boy was left in the car while the doctor and the hunter went to explore the generator building. In an amazing coincidence Dr Vincent had worked on the exact switchboard before and was able to successfully walk Sr Garry through the complicated startup routine.

Splitting up Sir Garry entered the restricted building to investigate however he was immediately thrown against the wall causing him to black out from the still raging time anomaly. Meanwhile Dr Vincent found plans detailing the research on the space-time anomaly and how it had become more unstable causing unexpected objects to come through and recommendations that it be shut down. Using the plans he realised that power had to be restored to the anomaly building before it could be shut down. While successfully restoring the power he was electrocuted in the process. With the anomaly stabilised Sir Garry was able to help Dr Vincent shutdown it down fully.

The Escape

With the power and navigation systems restored the focus now was on escaping the island and its prehistoric dangers. Sir Garry took the wheel while the Dr was still recovering with a spirited drive down the mountain ending in a sudden stop at a tree. Passing the old Bentley an attempt was made to get it started but it was decided it would be safer to push on which was a wise move as just then the Spinosaurus appeared.

All three people successfully escaped with only Sir Garry sustaining minor injuries. Taking the lay of the land to work out a final approach to the compound Dr Vincent was surprised to notice a pack of Utah raptors building a trap on the road. Sir Garry taking quick action tranquilized 3 raptors and killed 1 before the last raptor ran away.

With that they safely made their way into the confusion of the compound as boat where being loaded up to escape. Even more chaos ensued when the Spinosaurus blew the gates open with its sonic blast. In the mad dash to the remaining boats Sir Garry and Ben made it but Dr Vincent overcome with his earlier injuries fell down. In a heroic act Sir Garry leapt back to save the doctor sustaining injures in the process.

With that they were safe at last being transported off the island.

Epilogue

Sir Garry was haunted by the fact that they couldn't save everyone in the island and retired to raise his pet ankylosaurus from a stolen dino egg.

Dr Vincent used "borrowed" DNA to make a series of headline grabbing discoveries catapulting him to international acclaim.

Ben suffered from nightmares from everything that he had witnessed.
